September 2025 Edition of some Sermon Excerpts of the Bishop

MUCH LOVE AND GREETINGS FROM YOUR FRIEND AND BISHOP – THE RT. REV’D PROF. SAMUEL O. IKE, the Diocesan Bishop of Enugu (Anglican Communion).

1. The right armour for the battle of life and destiny is called “TRUST IN THE LORD”. The bullet-proof of this armour is called “DO NOT WORRY”. (Matthew 6:34; Philippians 4: 6 – 7)

2. The Error of Living a Distressed Lifestyle:
Friends, nothing shortens the lives of men like distress which is the elder brother to worry. Yet, any work you are doing void of stress(eustress) will not produce result. (EU)STRESS PRODUCES RESULTS WHILE DISTRESS PRODUCES TROUBLES. (Matthew 6:30; John 9:4)

3. God Is Not a Grandmaster of Secret Cults:
The secrets of God are made known. Study your Bible; know His person; understand His person (principles) and be on top of life / your enemies, then make heaven at last. (Romans 10:16 – 17; Deuteronomy 29:29; 1 Corinthians 2: 9 – 10)

4. Think on These: Philippians 4:8 – 9. Friends, what you think on, attracts either worry or courage. Think on, and believe, in Jesus with all your heart; and He will empty all in His hands for you. (Matthew 6:33)

5. A Grateful Heart Transcends Situations; in both good and bad times, determine to praise God. This is a true definition of how to show God that you have a grateful heart indeed. (Psalm 103:1 – 5)

6. The highest privilege God gave you as a child of God is that your sins are forgiven. He forgives and forgets. (Colossians 2:14 – 15; Psalm 103: 10 – 12)

7. DNA Changed:
Friends, sin is in the genetic formation of every man born of a woman. This powerful cancerous cell called sin would no longer have effect in the life of any man, both great and small, who has encountered Jesus Christ. The DNA of sin in a man can only be changed at the altar of SALVATION. Please accept Jesus Christ today and be set free from the grip of sin over your life. (Isaiah 64:6; Acts 4: 12)

8. The fear of the Lord is the cheapest way to live long. Why not fear God and live? (Proverbs 2: 21 – 22)

9. Four Senses Made Alive in Christ:
Sense of direction; sense of purpose; sense of vision; sense of focus. Dear Christian, you are advantaged. Do not spend your entire life maintaining the body that will decay one day at death; live a life of impact and be remembered for good. (Mat. 19: 28 – 30; James 4:14 – 15)

10. Vacancy! Vacancy! Vacancy!
The credentials / requirements to be useful in the vineyard of God ARE NOT being a Priest, Pastor, Bishop, Teacher of the word of God, an Evangelist, an Apostle, etc, but being a LABOURER. Labourers in this kingdom are not the onlookers, honour-seekers; title-seekers; and attention seekers. They are humble people on assignment for dying souls of men. The irony is that they are few. May heaven find you a faithful labourer. (Matthew 9: 37 – 38)

11. Friends, when you put SALVATION aside while you present a very powerful sermon, you are an entertainer; and you must answer for the souls heaven brought to you for transformation. (Titus 2:11 – 12)

12. Anger++
Anger++, which is equivalent to God’s wrath, dwells on you when God’s love is not with you. God is angry with sinners everyday. Dear friends, please surrender your life to Christ today. (Psalm 7:11; John 3: 36)
