Bishop’s Courtesy Call to the Mayor of Enugu North LGA

THE JOURNEY TO 2026 DIOCESAN SYNOD HAS BEGAN – COURTESY CALL OF THE DIOCESAN BISHOP, THE RT. REV’D PROF. SAMUEL O. IKE TO THE MAYOR OF ENUGU NORTH LOCAL AREA, ENUGU STATE.

The Bishop meets with the Mayor of Enugu North Local Government Area of Enugu State, Nigeria – Hon. Dr. Harford Ibenaku Onoh.

In preparation towards the Anglican Diocese of Enugu July 2026 Synod – barely Eight Months from now, an Episcopal visit was made today, the 23rd day of October, 2025.

His Lordship, the Rt. Rev’d Prof. Samuel O. Ike, was accompanied by the Central Planning Committee led by the Chairman, Sir Arc. Chris Ike. In the team was the Vicar of the Host Church, St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Ogbete, the Ven. Kenneth Ugwuagu, with the Local Organizing Committee Representatives.

His Lordship, Charged and encouraged the Mayor from the Book of 2^nd Samuel 10:12 to be strong and courageous in standing in for God and the people of Enugu North, he is serving, so that the King of Glory will see him through. He also released Episcopal blessing to the Mayor assuring him that as long as he keeps looking unto Jesus Christ, that he will finish well, with landmark legacies to be remembered for.

The meeting revealed that both the Bishop and the Mayor have some things in common. The most pronounced is that they are both old boys of Federal Government College, Enugu.

In response, the Mayor was overwhelmed by such Episcopal visit in times like this. He promised as a Co-host to the Synod, as His Lordship vividly mentioned, that he will do his best in ensuring that the Synod will be a huge success to the Glory of God.
