The Living Water
Theme: The Living Water John 4: 1-13.
Introduction: Why was it necessary that Jesus had to go Galilee through Samaria? John 4: 4.
- Divine Appointment: Jesus had a divine appointment with the Samaritan Woman at the well John 4: 4-6.
- This encounter led to the Conversion and the salvation of many Samaritans John 4: 39-42.
- Fulfilment of Prophecy: Jesus’ journey through Samaria fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah (Isaiah 56:3), where God declares that He will bring salvation to the Nations, including the Samaritans.
- Demonstration of God’s Love: By going through Samaria, Jesus demonstrated God’s love for all people, including those considered outcasts or enemies Luke 10: 25-37, Matt. 7: 9-11. This shows that God’s Salvation is available to everyone regardless of your background or ethnicity.
- Breaking down Barrier: Jesus’ journey through Samaria broke down barriers between Jews and Samaria, illustrating that the Gospel is for all people and that God’s love transcends cultural and national boundaries. 1st Corinthians 3: 1-9 – Jesus in John 4: 9, dealt with the Spirit of dichotomy.
- John 4: 15-18 – Jesus dealt with the harlotry demonic Spirit in the life of the Samaritan Woman.
- John 4: 10 – Jesus infused the Holy Spirit in the life of the Samaritan woman John 7: 37, Isaiah 12: 3ff.
In Conclusion Christians without the Living water are like Christians without gift 2nd Peter 2: 17 – 22. Christ is the living water while the Holy Spirit is the promised gift. Unless you receive Christ in your life, you can’t be empowered by the Holy Spirit.
