SEPTEMBER 2026 EDITION OF EXCERPTS FROM SOME OF HIS LORDSHIP’S MESSAGES.
MUCH LOVE AND GREETINGS FROM YOUR FRIEND AND BISHOP – THE RT. REV’D PROF. SAMUEL O. IKE, the Diocesan Bishop of Enugu (Anglican Communion).
Please read, digest and share.
1. His Lordship made this profound assertion: “The first, second, and third dependable methods of finding a life partner are through prayer. Every other means could be deceitful.”
Beloved friends, are you trusting God for a life partner? Go and pray! (Proverbs 3:5 – 6; James 1:5).
2. His Lordship gave one of the most valuable pieces of advice a man can give himself:
“You were uniquely created; there is no one exactly like you. Never compare yourself with others. Above all, you are made in the image and likeness of God.”
Beloved, when you lack this personal assurance of your God-given identity and worth, you may spend your entire life struggling with insecurity, unhealthy comparisons, and a diminished sense of purpose. (Psalm 139:14; Genesis 1:27; 2 Corinthians 10:12).
3. When sin grows; Iniquity – Multitude of Sins:
Friends, even if the magnitude of your sins has grown into what may seem like a multitude of transgressions, Jesus Christ is still able and willing to forgive you when you genuinely repent, confess your sins, and turn back to Him. No matter how far you may have wandered, God’s mercy is greater than your failures. (1 John 1:9; Isaiah 59:2; Isaiah 1:18).
4. The Greatest Good News in Human History:
When last did your phone, to which you are constantly glued, bring you good news that transformed your life, dear Child of God?
Your phone connects you to the world, but God’s Word connects you to His truth and the greatest Good News ever—the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Spend less time scrolling the phone, and more time studying, meditating on, and living by God’s Word. Build your faith!!! (Romans 10:17; 2 Peter 3:18).
5. YOU don’t need a Title to Witness for Jesus Christ:
Beloved, you don’t need a title or special platform to witness for Jesus. If Christ has transformed your life, share your testimony and point others to Him. Let your life preach what your lips proclaim, for godly character is a powerful witness. Preach the Word and live as a light to the world. (2 Timothy 4:2; Matthew 5:14).
6. Beloved, do not let the pursuit of worldly possessions, recognition, pleasures, or achievements overshadow your devotion to God. The world is passing away, but God’s will endures forever. Set your heart on things above and remain faithful to your eternal calling in Christ. Never trade eternal purpose for temporary pleasures. May your passion for God never be replaced by the love of the world, in Jesus’ name. Amen. (1 John 2:17; Mark 8:36 – 37).

7. The Greatest Grace in Human History: The Grace Of Salvation
Beloved, the greatest grace in human history is the grace of salvation through Jesus Christ. This grace is available to all humanity, and it is extended especially to you. No matter your past, the depth of your sins, or how far you may have wandered from God, His saving grace is still calling you to repentance, forgiveness, and eternal life through Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8 – 9; John 3:16; Titus 2:11).
8. The Greatest Tribute to the Dead: The Assurance of Eternal Life
Beloved friends, the greatest tribute we can offer the departed is to learn from the brevity of life, repent of our sins, and embrace Jesus Christ while we still live. Repent today, for today is the day of salvation! (2 Corinthians 6:2; Luke 13:3).
9. His Lordship’s Analogy of the Shepherd, the Keeper:
The 4 P’s of a Shepherd’s Responsibilities;
A faithful shepherd is a Provider, Protector, Pathfinder, and Pursuer—nurturing, guarding, guiding, and seeking those entrusted to his care.
Dear Pastors, Parents, Teachers, and Politicians: Are you faithful under-shepherds or wolves exploiting those you are called to serve? May God find you faithful in caring for His people. Amen. (John 10:11; 1 Peter 5:2–4; Hebrews 13:17).
10. Are You a Faithful Shepherd or a Hireling?
Beloved, when personal gain outweighs the welfare of those entrusted to your care, beware of the spirit of a hireling. Repent, return to God, and choose to protect, unite, and preserve lives, for no earthly gain is worth losing your eternity in Christ. May God make us faithful shepherds. In Jesus Christ’s name. Amen. (John 10:11–12; Mark 8:36; Acts 3:19).
11. The Greatest Prison of Life: A Self-Centred Heart
Beloved, may God deliver us from the prison of “I, me, and mine.” May Christ reign in our hearts, teaching us humility, love, and selfless service. For true freedom is found in living for Christ and others. (Philippians 2:3; Galatians 2:20; Mark 12:30–31).
12. Church Attendance is Not a Guarantee of Eternal Life:
Beloved, church attendance does not replace genuine repentance, saving faith, and surrender to Jesus Christ. Turn from sin, believe in Christ, and live for Him, for the time of salvation is now. (Matthew 7:21; Mark 1:15; John 3:3).
FRIENDS, IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, WHOM WE REPRESENT, MAY THE LORD PRESERVE YOU AND YOUR HOUSEHOLD FROM EVERY EVIL, ESPECIALLY THROUGHOUT THIS MONTH OF OCTOBER. AMEN!
